What is wrong with my sister's quad/ATV???
It is a 1999 Yamaha Badger, and it has a problem starting. I have a uncle that claims the spark in the spark plug isn't jumping high enough. I've replaced the spark plug numerous times. I had a similar problem with a Honda 300EX, and decided to get a new CDI box. Should I do the same for my sister's Badger?
Please don't give an irrelevant answer.
first off you need to check for spark do this by removing the plug wire from the plug and removing the plug install the plug into the end of the wire now lay the metal part of the plug against the engine case and crank the engine over and watch the end of the spark plug you should see a small spark if not then you may need a new cdi box but if you do have spark you may need to clean your carbeurator
