I have a project that I need help with, yamaha raptor gsxr motor conversion, need help with mounts.?
I have a 04 yamaha raptor 350 frame that I am doing a project with, I bought a 07 suzuki gsxr 600 motor I know I have to cut the old motor mounts off and make new ones but how do I go about making sure the more is true? (straight) Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, David.
your going to have to cut the whole lower section out of the raptor and remove the tank to get that motor to fit near correct, the main thing you want to do is have the countershaft sproket lined up correctly to the rear sprocket and also have the motor set where when sitting on the machine the amount of sag in the rear suspension makes the chain straight and not traveling over the front of the swingarm, otherwise your going to be going through chains and guids all the time. Your basicaly going to have to redesign most of your frame to except it and redo the gas tank as the carbs will be pointing up instead of to the rear like the original motor. Its alot of mods but it can be done good luck best bet is to find a local welding shop that has a good fabricator that is willing to help you out.

Is a Quad 660 the best option to tow a jetSki?
OK, here is my situation. I have a car which I can tow a jetski with but when I get to the beach the water is pretty far away from where I can park the car and I can't get into the sand since it's just a regular car (Not a 4x4). The beach is about 50 miles away from me each way (the closest spot).
Jetski weighs 350lbs dry
Quad 660 Yamaha Raptor weighs 450lbs
Trailer: I'm not sure
How do you suggest I do it? I'm thinking towing the Jet using the Quad with a regular hitch mount but everyone is saying that it may not be safe and that it will wear out the tires, transmission and engine.
Should I tow the jet directly with the quad over the 50 mile distance or Should I tow the Jet and Quad with the car until I get to the beach and then tow the trailer with the Quad and if so which quad and which trailer should I get?
Any recommendations welcome?
P.S. I live in a different country, so riding a quad towing stuff on public highways is not a problem.
You should definitely tow the quad and the jet ski to the beach and then lower the ski into the water with the quad. You don't wanna tear up a nice 4wheeler going those long distances.
