Assemble Good

What would be a good configeration to assemble a computer for video editing?
I have been told by a dealer that the following config is good :
P4 3.4 GHz CPU Box with 2 MB cache; 80 GB HDD; 1 GB DDR RAM; Intel original 915/945 motherboard; FDD; Creative Modem; ATX case; 512 MB VGA Card(ATI 1266/1600); DVD writer;
Do you have any other recommendations/or changes to above and how much would the cost/difference be (INR/OMR/AED)?
Go long on the CPU MHZ, RAM and HDD -- You can and should get much more storage than 80 GB - that's a bit thin for large projects.
If you can afford a SCSI motherboard rather than IDE, then do it.
Get a multi-chip motherboard to improve performance.
The more RAM you can stuff in the better and happier you'll be.
Invest in a decent, large monitor since that's what you'll be looking at.
