Back from Vacation, Fuel Smell in car when driving.?
I have just come back from a 30 day trip, and left my car with about 1/8 of a tank of gas. As soon as I got back, I filled up and today (3 Days Later) my engine light has come on and there is a strong smell of gasoline in the car (vents?). I have just used some injector cleaner and a new gas cap, anything else I can do besides go to a mechanic?
Open the hood and find the fuel leak....

Fuel tank not venting correctly?
I have a 92 celica, and if I drive for awhile, the car will start bucking, and eventually stall whenever I come to a stop. If I drive without my gas cap on, it runs perfectly fine. I had a venting problem a few months ago, and replaced the gas cap(it is a venting cap) and it solved the problem, but not it's happening again, I don't think the cap is the problem since it's new. Where else does the tank vent that I could check? and how can I clean it?
The gas cap should vent it correctly. If you are having the same problem, back up and start again where you did before. If it runs fine when you remove the cap, then replace the cap again; parts have warrantees for just that reason; they fail sometimes. The emissions system will draw vapors from the tank if needed, but the caps venting capabilities out-do the emissions system, making it an unlikely source of your troubles.
