What the heck are lowering springs/ what do they do?
The used car I'm planning on buying has a list of specifications..."Tech 5 lowering springs." I looked it up online to see what they were but just got descriptions on how they make a ride feel different. Also, for another car choice I'm thinking about, does a Mitsubishi Eclipse have back seats at all? From pictures I've seen for this car ('97), there were no pictures of the back...I'm challenged when it comes to cars, thanks for the help--I appreciate it
For your first question, the car has replacement suspension coil springs. The owner did it to change the car's ride height (ground clearance) for "improved" driving performance.
The common backyard method of changing a car's ride height is to cut or heat-treat the original springs, which warps the springs and makes them unable to carry the weight of the car. The "lowering springs" are capable of carrying the car's weight--they're just shorter than the original springs, and made of stronger steel.
But I agree with the poster before me; make sure the owner of that car changed out the shock absorbers along with the original springs, and made whatever modifications they had to to ensure the car can be aligned. If they say no, walk away.
For the second question, the back seat in a Mitsubishi Eclipse is actually more of a large package shelf. I don't think you could fit anyone larger than a toddler into them comfortably, unless they were seated sideways.

How To Lower A Bench Seat
Is lowering the toilet seat proper etiquette? Anyone aware of the fact that not lowering the LID causes toilet
germs to rise up in a fine mist and be deposited on all surfaces within 4-6 feet from the bowl?...that means the sink, countertops, toothbrushes, towels, etc. Will any woman now stop insisting that only the seat be lowered? Just trying to offer real information on a ridiculous and over-used trivial generalization perpetuated through ignorance.
Both sexes should close the lid before flushing, and the next user should find it closed.
