How can I make a great, non-soggy sandwich to pack in the cooler?
We will have sandwich bread.... thin deli meats... lettuce... tomato....
How can I layer it or whatever to make it tast good after being in a cooler for hours??
We will be at a dirty race track... we CANT make them there... MUST make them before hand!
Butter each slice of bread to the edges or use mayo - the oils will help "seal" the bread.
Put a slice of cheese against each slice of bread, then layer the meat and veggies in the middle.
Very important:
Seed the tomatoes and COMPLETELY dry the lettuce and tomato with paper towels before putting on sandwiches.
Have you thought of making wraps instead?
This way you could seed and chop the tomatoes without it seeming "odd" and put them in the center, and you'd have extra "breading" to soak up any juices since you'd be rolling them a few times.
They'd be easier/cleaner to hold and eat as well.
What is the best way to pack a cooler for camping?
Im wondering if its better to drain water as it forms in a cooler? Leave it? Dry ice? Regular ice? Combination? I have one cooler that will be opened fairly often and one that I want to keep shut as much as possible. Im packing about 70 pounds of meat for Memorial Day Weekend in two coolers.
what we do is freeze what we can in zip lock bags, stuff we can't freeze we put in those disposable plastic containers with the lids and then put it in a zip lock bag (found out the hard way one year when melted ice got into my pasta salad and ruined it...hubby packed the cooler that year...LOL) put a layer of ice in the bottom of cooler ....sprinkle heavily with salt (believe it or not salt will keep the ice from melting too fast!!!!...little restaurant trick I learned years ago) place your food in the cooler before the salt sets up the ice (it will make the ice get very hard), put a 1/2inch layer of old newspaper on top of the food (works as an insulator) then repeat the process until you fill your coolers (make sure your last layer is the newspaper). we have a big cooler so I also like to make a diagram of what is where in the cooler (tape it on top of the lid) so when others need to go in they know exactly where things are and don't waste too much time digging around looking for stuff and letting all the warm air in...hope this helps...have fun!
I'm running xp pro and service pack 3.secunia tells me server 2000 is at end of life and a category 4 threat?
I need more memory and a custom 32 bit install for windows 7,migrating to server 2003 doesnt look like much fun, would downloading ubuntu as a alternate o.s.be a good idea?are there any pitfalls?would it slow down or hurt windows in any way?
The trick is to understand your system well enough to keep the disk partitions for Windows and Linux separate. Linux will require a partition that is not FAT or NTFS. If Windows is using all the disks, you'll need t figure a way to free up space and place it in a partition of its own. There are tools to this, and many people can do it manually.
If the system has multiple partitions and all files can be moved off of one to make space for Linux, then you're fine. This would be a case where some Windows partition is empty, or just has data, but no programs on it. Any program using the data needs to be configured to know it was moved.
If there is a big partition at the end of the disk, it can be backed up, split, reformatted, then its data restored. The drive letter will remain the same; but a new drive (for Linux) would be created.
If the system is one one big disk partition and you don't have experience with repartitioning disks, It's probably not wort the risk. You would have to backup everything, repartition, then restore everything, or use some fancy partition-shrinking tool.
Another easy scenario, and probably the best, is to add a disk, specifically for Linux. That way Linux can be partitioned in a standard way, which uses several separate partitions.
Once Linux has its own space, there will be no problems with both OSs coexisting. Just be certain to install Linux on the Linux partition(s) and not on top of any part of Windows.
Install the Linux boot loader on a Linux partition or on the 2nd disk--not on the MBR of the 1st (Windows boot) disk. Set the BIOS to boot from the 2nd disk if that holds Linux. When installing Linux, tell GrUB that Window is on the 1st disk. That puts Windows on the new boot menu.
Whether on the 1st or 2nd disk, make the Linux partition the active one. If for any reason Windows won't boot from the new boot loader, the 1st disk can be selected in BIOS and the Windows partition can be make active again.

-2 small rack poles
-2 7pounds
-4 5pounds
-4 2 N half pounds
please help if you can and if you have a six pack and i need some help please give me a email notification my email is Og93905@yahoo.com no spam please.
well i have had a 6 pack as long as i can remember. but it got a lot more noticible when i started to run. running burns fat which covers up your muscles. so the weights wont really matter. once you burn the fat, you will be able to notice your abs. then i would just go with different types of crunches. i feel the burn a lot with those. make sure to keep up the cardio so you keep off the fat once you lose it. good luck
I like playing rock n roll and pop rock (kind of like Joan Jett, Demi Lovato, and Ashlee Simpson). Some of my fav bands are GN'R, Motley Crue, Zeppelin, Skid Row, KISS, Poison, Bon Jovi, Velvet Revolver, Daughtry, Papa Roach, STP etc
