is a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck 4x4 Quad Cab a good first car why or why not other then gas?
other than the gas those are good trucks,it doesn't cost much more to keep a 4 wheel drive vehicle up than a 2 wheel drive one,if you take care of a 4 wheel drive vehicle they will last just as long,i know i own 11 dodges,all insured and drove when i can,and my maintenance on the 3- 4 wheel drive ones doesn't cost any more than the 2 wheel drive ones i own,but i don't drive one until it falls apart either i keep on top of the repairs,if the price of gas doesn't bother you then that would make you a nice truck,all vehicles will give problems so be prepared to spend some money once in a while on it,good luck.

The Thrill Of Owning A 4x4
There are many pleasant motor vehicles out there for you to choose from, from luxury sports cars to zippy racing cars. However, there is a lot to be said about the fact that there is a huge rising trend in sports utility vehicles and 4x4s.
Driving a 4x4 can be a thrilling and lovely experience. 4x4s are powerful, formidable vehicles, with the ability to conquer traffic and also most daring off road terrains. Firstly, we will look at why it is lovely to drive a 4x4 in urban areas.
4x4s are deemed to be much safer than normal motor vehicles, as they are stronger. If you are in a collision, the vehicle will be able to handle the impact much better. Most 4x4s nowadays come with extra enhanced safety features, such as bull bars on the front grill, airbags and a roll cage. This makes it an excellent family car, as the parents will feel that it is far safer to transport their children in a 4x4 than a regular vehicle. Modern advances in motor vehicle technology have revolutionised the petrol consumption of these larger vehicles, so the fuel costs will not be as huge a worry as once before. One of the biggest problems you could have is finding parking space that will accommodate your vehicle, although there is something glorious about being able to park on a ramped pavement at a very busy shopping centre.
Now we get to the really fun part, off roading! A lot of holiday enthusiasts and adventurers choose to purchase a 4x4. In a 4x4 you can conquer any terrain, from mountainous areas to small streams and muddy dunes. There is something very liberating about having a vehicle that you know can take you just about anywhere! With a 4x4, you will be able to go on holiday wherever you wish, with the whole family! In addition to this, you can pull along a trailer containing a boat, quad bikes or any other sports equipment you could need. 4x4s are very powerful, and will have the ability to pull these heavy trailers. There is also a lot more space inside the cabin, allowing for extra luggage and increased comfort while travelling.
It is easy to see why it is thrilling to drive a 4x4. You will have a lot more freedom regarding travelling choices, and will never have to worry about space for your children's sports equipment and school bags whilst also lugging along your grocery shopping bags and the family dog. There are even motor insurance companies that do specialised insurance for 4x4s, which helps in bringing the cost of owning one down even further.
