Install Windows 7 OEM on a computer?
Hello
I just got Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit OEM for Christmas. I have a computer that has Windows Vista Ultimate installed on it and I want to do a complete re-install, not an upgrade.. On the package of the Windows 7 it says:
"If the individual software license is for a desktop operating system or application software, it also must be preinstalled on the hard drive of the fully assembled computer system, using the OEM Preinstallation Kit (OPK)."
Does this mean I have to download the OPK so I can install the OEM, because if I have to do that I have to register with Microsoft's Partner program and that just sucks balls. lol

Can I Use A Vista OEM On The PC It Wasn't Intended For?
Hey Guys Here's The Deal. My Sister Bought A Samsung Laptop, it was preloaded with XP MediaCenter, but was bundled with a Samsung OEM of Vista Home Premium. Now My XP is being a bi*ch so can i use that Samsung OEM on my custom built PC. It hasn't been used on my sisters laptop, as she prefers XP. BTW can you give me a guide to installing an OEM, is it the same as a normal OS install and will I be screwed by the WGA once I start using it, because it's not actually against the rules. I have heard that some OEM's get set to that certain PC's motherboard, if I just ring windows up and say my "Laptop" got screwed and now I have a complete different system will they let me use it. Finally I don't think it came with a product key, as probably I will have to enter the number on the bottom of the laptop, will this screw my sister XP up, because it has been used "twice" ?

Technically, yes, you can. The OS install is the same as any other Vista install. It's simple as can be.
It should come with a product key also.
