Changed distributor cap, ignition coil, spark plug wires, andspark plugs. The blue arcing only shows on the ignition coil. When I put in drive, I lose power and I can tell its electrical because I can see the lights dimmer when I put in drive or reverse. What is causing this? Car is a 1986 Pontiac Fiero 4 cylinder automatic transmission.
Try cleaning the ignition coil with a rag. Then. make sure the wire that goes into it is also clean, and that the rubber boot is not cracked. Make sure the wire is fully seated in the coil as well. If you do that and still see arcing, you probably have a crack in the coil.
i have a 1990 gmc sierra 4x4 truck and im not getting a spark from the coil to the distributor cap& wont start?
i bought new coil and distribtor cap and button new plugs and plug wires but i am getting fuel to it, but no spark and now it wont start at all. can someone tell me what the problem is?
1st--you must check the plug wires that you installed as being placed correctly.
2nd--you must check the wires you plugged into the distributor. Make sure they are in all the way. I say these first two because you posted, "..now it wont start at all." This suggests it ran before repairs.
3nd--you must determine if it has current going to the coil. If it does the the problem is probably the module under the distributor. There seems to be a lot of postings with potential module problems this week.
It is under the cap and heat usually does it in. It uses a dielectric compound between the module and distributor to dissipate heat which is important.

My transmission fluid is dark brown with hint of red how many flushes would you do to it?
I have exchanged the old fluid twice now and then im going to do it a third time to make sure its clean.
I am draining old stuff out puting new stuff in then running it so now its more redish.
Its really dirty I dont want my transmission to burn up.

Did it smell burnt ?? and was there a LOT of metal in the pans bottom ?? its gotten overheated if so id go further into it all kinds of crud and damaged stuff can be lurking in there also can you drain the converter ?? They do not circulate they just fill off the pump and stay high pressure they hold a lot of old fluid that just wont drain out (some older stuff mostly fords DID have a drain plug in it ) If it got cooked if yours did this and you cant drain the converter consider pulling the tranny you can clean one out but its just as cheap to get a re manned converter along with a general go Thu of the transmission (valve body servos ETC along with seals ) good luck

have changed reservoir cap,changed thermostat which has sensor connected to it, changed clutch fan, changed lower radiator hose and had radiator back flushed. had it tested for bad head gasket or leak to the block . it was no problem. water pump does not leak, could it still be bad ?
Take it to a shop with an infrared heat detector and a scan tool. If, when the temp gage reads hot, and the coolant is flowing through the thermostat, at what temp. is the gage reading? To double check, with a scan tool, they can determine what the PCM (computer) is reading to determine if there is really something wrong with your cooling system or something wrong with your gage/circuit/sensor.

I just picked up a Vidikron Model 60 and want to set up a theater in what will be my former library. I won't need all sorts of sophisticated switching as it will be dedicated to viewing films on DVD, with perhaps a very light DVI computer load. The salesman recommended getting a Stewart screen, which appears from my research to be an excellent suggestion. For the audio doesn't need to be terribly complex. I had been looking before at Denon and Elite receivers for the video and audio, but this only needs to be bare bones. Those bones should be well matched to the performance of this projector though. Any suggestions on receivers, DVD players, and speakers to round this out, giving a solid performance without wasted money on unneeded bells and whistles?
I like your style.... it seams the main thing you are concerned with in your system is picture and sound... gee imagine that. It is refreshing that you don't require the "launch pad" option.
There are a handful of companies i really like, because they focus on performance and simplicity. All their components are well made and you would not be disappointed with anything that any of these guys make, yet they are not asking you to put a second mortgage on your house either. Speakers are very subjective and you should really only take the advice of your own ears, but i listed a couple to look into.

Denon & elite are good, but you are going to be buying main stream and will have a more complex interface to stumble through. the choices above are simplisticly eligant.
