Is it safe to touch light switch wires with rubber gloves on?
I accidentally pushed my bathroom light switch into the cover. So I took it off and tried to push it back in without touching the wires and got a little shock. (I'm fine, unfortunately).
Back to the question, if I wear rubber gloves, would it be safe to touch the wires. Preferably with the power on. Or should I turn the power off then do it with rubber gloves?
I'm not to sure.go give it ago then come back and tell us. it'd be like your doing a community service.

Why is there an orange blinking light in my light switch in the bathroom?
I have owned my house for about 2 years now, and when I walked into my bathroom today I saw that one of the light switches were blinking orange. I have never seen this before and didn't even realize that my light switches have lights inside of them. What could this mean. I'm afraid to turn the switch on because i'm afraid of what may happen. Could this be a safety warning, or a short? any ideas will help, so confused.
Lived here for two years and this is the FIRST time i've seen this.
Some switches have night lights built in so you can see them in the dark. But if you buy cheap garbage (like Cooper brand at Lowe's), the night lights burn out shortly, and sometimes they may come back on later, or start flickering, etc. Replace them with a Leviton brand lighted switch, and you won't have any problems. You can buy those at Home Depot. Never go to Lowe's for electrical stuff, they are the worst.
