Does an ATV get put under homeowner's insurance or under auto insurance?
My current company said they were going to drop my policy because underwriting wouldn't accept the ATV...now what do I do???
I know Geico sells ATV collision, comprehensive, and collision just like for automobiles.
If you don't have this kind of coverage, your homeowners insurance would cover your ATV if it were stolen or destroyed while on your property. Maybe even off your property too. Check with your insurance company. Policies and coverage vary.

How to register ATVs in Alabama?
How to get a tag for my ATV? Do I need to purchase the insurance?
Go and ask your local DMV (Department of motor vehicles) they LOVE telling you stuff like this. And they are way more accurate then we are.
Do I need to have a ignition interlock device installed on my ATV. My drivers licence was just reinstated?
I am getting the interlock for my car but not sure if I need one for my atv. The atv has ownership, plates and insurance and is only for offroad use.
No! They cant control what you do as long as you are not on the road. If you were to get caught driving it on the road you would lose your license though. Also the D.O.T. doesn't have control over public land with atv trails so you would be OK there too.

New 2009 Foreman ATV - Gas burning smell?
I just bought the new Honda ATV and went out for a short ride around the neighborhood for test drive. I noticed there was a burning gas smell, of course while on. Is this normal? Perhaps it is since it's the first time using it and it is a bit cold. I just want to confirm.
Also - how much are the insurance costs for the ATV? Month/year? Thanks!

New bikes and quads are coated with "cosmoline" (a thin oil like sewing machine oil) to prevent them from rusting before removal from their shipping crate.
Sometimes it isn't completely cleaned off before the customer takes possession of the bike/quad.
That is what you are smelling.
Clean and wash your ATV with "S100"

I have a loan for an ATV. If I took the ATV and gave it back and canceled my payments would it affect my score
Not only will it ruin your credit, they will sell it at auction,(and the bank doesn't care how much it sells for) and whatever balance is still owed after the sale, they will come after you for it in civil court.
This is why many dealers buy at auction, they get vehicles at 1/3 the actual book value.
okay so i have a question about bankruptcy, I have a large amount of credit card debt, it keeps goin up and up, i have 1 vehicle loan with the local credit union, and 1 atv motorcycle loan, actually it was on a honda credit card, and had no lien on the title so i sold it a few months ago to help pay down my other debt. However I think i may file for bankruptcy, what will happen with the honda card? will it be included? I dont know what to do because i dont have the cycle anymore and i dont want them to bring that up and get in any kind of trouble. What if i decided to file and keep payin for it at last resort would that work?
You dont say which country you're in which makes this difficult to answer
Anyway, In the U.K. all debts would be included in the bankruptcy...you need to declare everything that you owe...you need to owe about £15,000 to make this worth doing....you will not have enough money left after to pay any credit card bills...just a very basic amount....it'll be up to the Official Receiver re. your bike - but if you can prove that you sold it to clear debt you'll be fine

Do atv/snowmobile loans have higher APR?
Do atv/snowmobile loans have a higher rate then when getting an auto loan?
they do because they are "recreational". These type of loans for this small amount of cash are a little bit ridiculous because their value drops in half the second you sign the contract. Buy it outright and quit putting money in the pockets of these desk jockeys.
Will buying an ATV lower or raise my credit score?
I have bad credit, my scores are 587,526,567. I have 9 negatives and 4 positives.
5 of the negatives will be removed By March 08'.
I already tried getting a loan for an ATV but was denied.
If I apply with a cosigner who has excellent credit will my score go up? I know I will get approved with the cosigner, Im just not sure if it will raise my credit scores or hurt them because I added another item on my report.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I sure wish people would do their research before answering here.
First, as long as those negatives are on your credit report your score will stay below 620. When you apply for your ATV loan, that score is going to cost you more in interest. Therefore, if you could somehow hold off until March, do so. Trying to remove the negative items will take a few months anyway.
Keep in mind that your credit score is made of of several factors. Adding more debt will hurt your score for a few months. It takes about 6 months of on-time payments before it will start going back up. So again, we are back to that March '08 date.
Hope this answer helps.

what happens when you default on a loan after bankrutsy?
I have a personal loan that i kept paying on after declaring bankruptsy. They have titles to my pick up truck,my motorcycle and my atv. If i default on this loan i asume that they will repo all three things. Will they still send me to collection? The bank is out of state.I also never signed anything after the bankruptsy for this bank, just kept paying. I can no longer afford the payment. The loan was for 18,000 and still owe about 9,800. The value of these items are about 6-7,000 dollars all combined. What should i do?
If they have the titles and this is a secured loan, then yes, they will repo all of these things. Also, because you already filed bankruptcy and didn't include this loan you are liable for the debt. Depending on which state you live in the company can sue you for the remaining debt and they might be able to garnish your wages for it. Like I said, not all states allow wage garnishing so you would have to check to be sure. I know Pennsylvania and West Virginia are 2 that do not allow wage garnishing. And remember you can't file bankruptcy again until the stature of limitations is up for the current bankruptcy. They will send you to collection agencies to try to collect the debt and they can call as many times a day as it takes to get a hold of you. If you can't afford to pay this loan I would suggest trying to maybe refinance through a different company of your bank at a lower interest rate which can lower your monthly payments or lower the length of the loan. I would not recommend just "letting them go" simply because you will not be able to get another loan for a car anywhere. And this loan will report on your credit for 7 years from the first date you were late. Good luck.
