where can i find a starter support bracket for a 1985 K-10?
You can buy them from the dealer, I have priced them there before, the one for my 84 K10 Suburban was less then $10, so price isn't too bad. If you have the 6.2, you better hurry on getting it because I didn't and it caused all sorts of issues with snapping bolt in half.

how do i install an ac without a support bracket?
install air conditioner without bracket
man you have to let common sense prevail here. If you don't have a bracket and the AC unit needs one then you'll need something to hold the weight. Maybe you could get by with a couple of cables lagged in the structure above the unit, maybe a couple of 2x4 cut to length with 45(s) on the end and another 2x4 could be used to keep the bottom of the 2x4(s) in place. Maybe a board or pipe could be install on the inside between the top of the unit and inner top of the window box - this would hold the weight down in the front cantilevered over the window frame. you could build some thing to hold the front of the ac unit up while installing the unit further inside then normal as long as the exhaust is still on the outside.
Really a couple of pictures of the window, the ac unit, and out side would help a lot for helping out

Electric lawn mower motor questions?
To be exact, I'm trying to make a winch to pull a wakeboarder across water at about 22 miles per hour. My question is will a electric lawn mower motor hooked up to about 48V (4 car batteries) pull me easily at that speed? I would detach the mower blades and weld on a large spool for cable or rope. Does the amount of batteries have any effect on it? Could this work?
1] If your lawnmower motor was meant for AC and you hook it to batteries [which are DC] you will make a lot of smoke.
2] Not knowing the torque of the motor it is hard to tell.

Cable Installation Equipment Used
Having to deal with electric cables is something very dangerous and that is why companies specialised in cable installation need a lot of cable installation equipment to work safely.
So when it comes to cable preparation, various tools are needed. Those tools need to be properly insulated and completely safe to use if you do not want to get an electric shock while working.
First of all, they would have the cable cutters. There are different types of cable cutters available that are adapted to a certain kind of work. You can get hydraulic cutters, but also mechanical cutters or battery operated ones.
Cutting a cable is one thing, and it will at some point be necessary to strip it, which is why cable stripping tools can be very useful. Once again, it is vital to buy the proper kind of equipment that will be safe to use and properly insulated.
On top of those tools, others are used when doing cable preparation like hydraulic, mechanical or even battery operated compression tools. Associated tools like cable cleaners and wipes will probably be used a lot as well.
People working in cables installation will always wear special clothes. You can usually find a complete range of everyday work wear especially for workers who are in regular or occasional contact with electrical equipment.
These kind of special clothes are properly insulated to protect all their body whether they are just using drum lifting equipment or if they are dealing with a cable winch, a cable cutter, a cable roller or any live line equipment.
These workers sometimes need to use machines like overhead winches or underground winches to install cables outside. They need to be very robust and be able to cope with a tough environment. Those machines are usually used for new construction or refurbishment works, with the use of rope drums or split drums.
Other machines are used to bury the cables underground. The cable ploughs are designed to be used in all types of soil, and the plough is often filtering away the small stones and rocks in order to make sure that the trench is filled with fine earth. Despite its heavy duty trenching capacity the plough is surprisingly gentle to cable, ensuring that no damage is done.
Every time those machines and tools are used, caution is taken to make sure no one get injured and special equipment is worn all the time.

Is a warn 2,500 winch for an ATV a good winch?
ATV nowadays describes an aweful lot of things. Is it a kawasaki mule, 700 cc king quad, or what? You could conceivibly get one of these big atv's stuck such that the 2500 lb winch would not pull it out. I have a warn 2500 on my big bear 350 and it has pulled me out and saved the day for me and others many times. I believe that it would even pull my jeep out of a small hole. I love my warn 2500 for use on my 4 wheeler, it's the older one, but it's still tough as nails.

winch motor rpm speed?
Hey
im building a turntable that needs to spin at precisely 30-40 rpm and be able to spin a heafty load at a that constant speed. does anyone know what speed an atv winch turns at (in rpms) or have any ideas.
All electric motors rate of speed varies based on load, and available current, a winch motor is no different, so setting your turntable to 30-40 rpm's will depend on the load. the easiest way to do it is to use a two phase electric fan motor, with the power lead running through a variable resistor, that way you can dial up and down the speed to get it where you want it.
