Tips on living out of your car?
OK, so far my car/camper conversion includes:
Removing passenger seat/rear fold-down seats for room.
Using Velcro to attach a blackout curtain for privacy and darkness on those nights spent in a parking lot.
Possibly buying a deep-cycle battery to run laptop, electronics, heater/fan while car isn't running.
Cooler for beverages.
Laptop+wi-fi hotspots for Internet and entertainment.
Can opener and Titanium Spork.
Futon matress, pillow, sleeping bag for comfortable living.
Using truck stops, fitness clubs, college dorms to shower.
bike rack for bike, my alt source of transportation.
Power invertor, electric pot for food.
What are some other things I can do for my car, or to support myself for an extended vacation?
When i slept in the back of my explorer i found that where i stopped i almost always found the ground was unlevel, it was extremely hard to sleep on a slant. If i were to sleep in my truck again i would have brought a level and a few various sizes of wood to level the truck and make it more comfortable.

Didn't wait 24 hrs b4 starting freezer put on its side. Motor runs, but it will not freeze anything?
My freezer is a White Westinghouse FU211LRW5 21cu/ft upright. Gets very cold, won't freeze, little black ball on bottom rear has small switch box or motor ??compressor hums gets very hot;copper cables near black ball get very cold;no exterior grate coils appears cooling elements are in the food shelves/racks I do get some frost/ice on rear of top shelf only. Fan is not visible. I have cleaned the bottom of freezer with vacuum and feather duster. Was unplugged for a few weeks before move. Beautiful freezer please tell me it can fixed for less than a replacement.
Sounds ok to me. The compressor will get hot when it runs continuously which it will do until the freezer comes down to the setpoint of the thermostat. The copper "cables" are the freon pipes and should be cold. If it is not freezing by tomorrow morning, start over. Unplug it for a FULL 24 hours. Then plug it in and leave it empty and closed for a FULL 24 hours. By then it should be cold and freezing. If it is not and it is not too old it is likely reasonable to have the compressor replaced or repaired.
Bert
