Why do American cars look so... so.... fat?
I was looking at the Chevrolet website (the US version) and all of the cars are HUGE and fat.
I'm just comparing the cars we have here in the UK - admittedly there are some awful cars, but you can see the nice lines down the side and the way the lights blend into the front, then I looked at this :http://z.about.com/d/cars/1/7/F/b/gm_08malibu_frt.jpg

more crashes occur in america so theres loads of air bags all over the cars and the bodies of the cars are massive to withstand the impact of a crash like the side beams and big bumpers.

OK, here are the details for my STOCK 1998 GMC 1500, 5.7 V8.
GVWR is 6200
Frt Axle is 3600 and Rr axle is 3686
Cargo wgt is 763
On Bumper:
500 lbs torque load max
5000 lbs trailer load max
What size/weight 5th Wheel can I haul? And yes, I'm expecting an answer that only 7 NASA scientists can figure out...
Looking to haul mostly between FL and SC. No Rocky Mountains if that make a difference.
