Sierra Headlight?
Hi,
The headlight lenses in my dad's '96 Sierra 1500 are really cloudy and need to be replaced. Anyone know how you remove the existing units? I'm told you can just replace the 'capsule' and don't have to replace all of the brackets. If anyone knows where an article on the subject is, that would be great.
Take the lower turn signal off first. There should be 4 screws if it is the composite style and then twist the bulbs out. You have to take the grill off or undo several screws and then unbolt the headlight unit. It isn't that bad of a job. I got my replacement composite lamps at www.autopartsway.ca It was worth the money and I could not find them cheaper anywhere else.

HEADLIGHT BRACKET REPAIR
making bike street ready attaching headlight?
I have a 2005 gsxr 600 and everything works but i need the right, left and upper fairings, air ducts, and windscreen to finish my bike. I do have the upper fairing bracket and headlight but i would like to attach a fog light or something just to ride my bike around for transportation since my car is broke probably for good. i dont have the money yet to buy new fairings. Is there a way i can do this.
what is low beam wiring and what wires do i need to cut. I need some good directions on how to do this.
i also dont have a gauge either but ill just go with the flow. Is there a way to mount that?
Buy a head light kit for it from Acerbis. That is what I have on my bike. I have an R6 with no fairings. The headlight is encased in a small windscreen like enclosure that resembles a motocross number plate. Look at stunt bikes with no fairings you'll see what I mean. It has rubber straps that strap around the fork tubes to hold it on. They cost between 70-100$ depending on the style. I got mine from Dennis Kirk, look in the off-road catalog. If you want to save money you can buy a cheap set of fog lights from wal-mart and hook them up. The hardest thing about that is mounting them. As for the wiring, DON'T CUT ANYTHING! Especially if you plan on replacing the fairings. Get a test light, if there are separate wires and plugs for high and low beam then just keep them separate,if there is only one plug you will have to find which wires are high beam and which wires are low beam. Use the test light to find the ground and hot wires for each. Toggle the high/low beam switch back and forth to supply power the hot wires. After finding your power and hot wires for high and low beam connect them to your lights. My bikes headlight plugs had female connectors in the headlight plugs so I crimped male connector on the wires from the headlights and connected them accordingly. They are not very bright, but they do the trick. Remember to take off the faring bracket. hope this helps. Keep it on one wheel!!!!!
