I'm looking for a butterfly handlebar for my touring bike. Where can I buy one online?
The online shop must accept international orders from Malaysia, so forget about Nashbar. I tried on Performancebike but no avail. The conventional drop bar is OK but I need more space for my hand especially on long distance ride. And I'm sure this handle bar is far more comfortable. Please help, anyone??

What is the purpose of curved handlebars on a bicycle?
I see them on road bikes all the time and they never made a whole lot of sense to me. How are they better than straight bars? Is it just that it gives you a greater number of hand-placement options?
The curved bars are known by a variety of terms dependent upon their style. I think that you are talking about drop bars that, when viewed from the side, seem to form a backless D shape.
The main purpose of these is for making the rider significantly more aerodynamic when riding at speed. Anyone who has ridden a bike will know the feeling of sitting up into the wind. These bars aim to mitigate that drag factor enormously and thus enabling riders to race further, faster and longer.
However, this does come at a price. There is, generally speaking, less control over the bike when using the bottom position of the drop bars, the steering is twitchy and your ability to see is limited due to your position. For that reason, urban riders should generally look to the flat bars favoured by mountain bikers trading off the marginal advantage of reduced wind resistance for the considerable advantage of being able to more safely conclude your ride!
