Suzuki 230 overheating problem?
I have an 1987 suzuki 230 lts quadsport and it overheats, I think it might be the oil because I have a concocktion of oils in it Example: I have 5w30 10w 40 5w 30 and much much more does anyone know if that would cause it to overheat. And is their any other things i can do to reduce the temp. Here are the systums i'm having with my quad, when it runs for a while (when it gets hot) it spudders at low rpm, boggs at low rpms, dosn't like to idle (when I first start it and for the first 20-30 mins its idles perfect then it starts to idle really really really low, Some times I will shut it off for about 5 mins and it wont start until its cool. Their is no thermonator on this model so thats out of the question, any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I believe your quad is air cooled....correct?. Well the one question I do have is why all the different types of oil?? It's doing nothing for you in the way of extra protection. Just change the oil more often and you will be fine as for the over heating it could be a couple things, one is the air / fuel mixture correct a lean carb the hotter it runs the richer it runs on the cooler side. Two main jet plugged, three restriction in the exhaust system causing too much back pressure. Four a retarded timing on the quad will definitely do it for sure, five too hot of a spark plug and this will do piston damage as well by burning a hole in it. check all these and you may find that one is the problem.

Which Exhaust is better for a QuadSport Suzuki Ltz400?? HMF or a DG Xccelerator?
Im looking to get rid of my stock z400 exhaust and i've been reading about quad exhaust and i've narrowed it down to these 2 "HMF or a DG Xccelerator" and im not sure which 1 to go with?? I want the one thats got the most power and speed behind it and is the loudest. I just know there both great but dont know which 1 to go with. Help me out please. Thanks
And i really cant afford to go over a price of $250.
if your looking for the price range between the two your looking at is hmf all of my buddys have them on there yfz400's sound and look great and then jetting is the part where the power is going to take place you will have to get a jet kit no matter what with a new pipe dynajet makes a great kit and also moose along with that a new filter helps if you dont have one k&n is great i put them on all my bikes good luck
