How do I make the rubber seals around doors look new again?
Does anyone know what products we can you to rejuvinate the rubber seals around the doors?
Our Toyota Corolla is a few years old so its still in great condition.
Is there a DIY process where we could make the rubbers supple again...like showroom condition?
The only practical way is to replace the seals. They are fairly expensive but are easy enough to replace. The long molecular strings in the rubber have broken so are no longer as elastic as when new, and nothing will join them back together.
Silicone won't hurt, and neither will Armor All, but don't use WD-40 on rubber. It is a mixture of petroleum distillates that will speed the breakdown of the rubber. Don't drink it either - the MSDS warns "Harmful or fatal if swallowed. Combustible Liquid. If swallowed, may be aspirated and cause lung damage." WD-40 is good for the inside of distributor caps but not much else, and is absolute death on locks after a year or two.

Bought 02 Avalon XLS serviced regular, w/103k lacked Timing belt Change,how long before I must change it?
Female driven in showroom condition,has all the regular Toyota maintenance paperwork except the 90 K Timing belt change!
How long can I get away without doing it?
Secondly whats the average cost for the 90 K service on Avalon or just the timing belt???
if the belt does break the car will stop right then and there and you will have to get it towed
