Bad noise after ball joint replacement?
'98 Toyota Sienna. I got the front driver side ball joint replaced on Friday, as well as the front brakes done. Now, it's Sunday, and the van is making a HORRIBLE noise, like a creaky door times 100. It only makes it when I turn left, but it's really loud. Even if I just turn left slightly (like if I wiggle the steering wheel back & forth, it will make the noise when I go to the left & only when I'm going, not if I'm stopped). I though the brakes just needed to "break" in, but the noise has gotten worse. I haven't drove but 20 miles. I do plan on taking it back to the shop, but I want to know what it could be? Should I stop driving it?
without knowing for sure what the issue is i reccomend not driving it. the shop that fixed it should pay to have it towed to thierplace, however they ill mostlikely say knowto the tow eventhough they should do it. but it sounds like the ball joint could be loose the beargs, the rotor, or even the brake pads, any one f these parts could be loos or even broke if they were installe wrong or if the tech forgot to tighten something. drivng the car will only make it worse. o complain log and lou until you get them to tow it, threaten to contct an attourney if you hav to. goodluck
