Motor Engine Sweet

Civic hatch fans and s10/mini pickup fans, I need your opinions!?
I'm stuck between getting a 93 dx hatch (D15b7)for $2300 or a 99 s10 (2.2 I-4) xtreme stepside p/u for $4000.
-Hatch: PROS: Great gas milage on stock motor. Honda reliability, cheaper insurance than p/u, easy to modify. CONS: 15year old car with 132,300miles.
-s10: Sweet stepside design, able to carry around whatever I want, chill out with girls in the back while looking at stars. CONS: Domestic reliability, weak engine, not good that great of gas milage.
basically from you guys I would like to know what your favorite things are that you can do with your Hatch or p/u that you wouldnt be able to do on the other platform. Thanks all.
The DX hatch is a tiny little bugger. But my mate used to drive a '94 DX hatch before it was stolen (a blessing, in my opinion). It was incredibly cheap to insure, easy to maintain, and an overall reliable car. The previous owner was the kind of guy who bought a car and didn't do a damn thing to it after the day it left the lot. Oil changes every 30,000 miles, rare service checks, and just general neglect of everything. He gave the car to my mate for $600 with no less than 167,000 miles. When it was stolen, it had over 200k. It easily could have lasted another ten years.
Oh, it also got 40 mpg (with no a/c) and was very easy to modify/add on/fix.
I can't comment much on the pickup but I haven't heard great things about Chevy trucks other than the Silverado. I just generally avoid domestics because there are much better, safer, and more efficient cars available.
I say go for the Honda but offer $1800 to $2000. It's not worth more than $2100 in a private party sale even if it has power steering and a few other options.
Bionx motor
celica engine starts all sweet then runs rough for a second then cuts off what could it be?
ok today i got home went inside for 5 minz then went back out tryed to start the car and it wouldn't start so i tryed to start with battery to starter motor that didnt work so put the air intake pipe back on and then it started but stumbled and cut out a few seconds later i have put everything back to the way it was all vaccum lines etc but still does it
it was working perfect 5 minz before it just all of a sudden did this
it is now making a load as clicking noise when i turn the key will upload a vid of it
i found the problem with it stumbling and cutting off it was a rubber tube that went from the intake pipe to somewere had a big crack in it and was leaking but ill check the fuel filter as it sometimes dosnt start thanks
I agree with Ant. Check the fuel filter - if it hasn't been replaced for some time, it could be clogged, and that means the engine isn't getting enough gasoline to keep running.
