my exhaust downpipe gasket has a leak will this sealant work?
i bought this gasket sealant it says its temp resistant up to 425f will it hold up or that pipe will get hotter then that?
Replace the gasket/donut now. Make sure to use a good lube on the bolts before removing them. If they are hard to get loose take your time. A good method is to loosen a little then tighten about 1 turn back to help clean the rust off of the threads. Go from one to the other. Too much on one all at once can create a lot of heat and break them. So be careful and keep them lubed.

Is there a need for an exhaust manifold gasket on a 2002 Grand AM?
I own an O2 Grand Am with a 3.4L V6. I have recently purchased a set of ceramic coated headers (that I cannot wait to install). My question would have to be: Are the heads on my car steel or aluminum? And in either case, is there a need for a gasket since the headers are ceramic coated?
