Look on places like craigslist and see what others are going for. Then post your add. When someone looks at it and starts picking things out that are wrong with it like a scratch here and there just say you know what you have and finding this stuff will not change the price. Then look and see if you can find a used one of what you want where someone needs the money.

BIG WOODS ATV PARK 5

Car Suggestions for me.?

Hello I am in High School and well I am looking for a car.
To be precise I am not looking for a compact car,a big SUV like a Cadillac or a gas guzzler like a Hummer.

I want a Jeep like car or Sports SUV that is not very old like the 80's.Something that you can drive into the woods and also something that can haul a small supply trailer holding two motorcycles or an ATV and also I would like it to be able to take a punch and still keep going.I know it sounds a little bit two redneckish but I am a Mexican born legal resident who is fond of outdoors southern life. Also I consider safety a major priority and to add: I have a budget of 6000.00$ but my parents have offered me alot more but at a somewhat modest 15,000.00 budget. So please any suggestions on a car for me?
No Wranglers because that car looks unsafe especially with the soft covers.

Something like a Landrover.

It seems as if you have already formed a
personal preference that you like. That
precludes any specific input that would be
of value to you.

What you want is an all wheel drive utility
vehicle of some type. The four wheel drive
utility vehicles have been around for a
long time now, and have proved to be very
useful if used properly. Unfortunately, they
all have one distinct problem that many
fail to understand. For them to be built
with the ability to traverse all types of
terrain, they have a higher ground clearance
than other vehicles. As such they are
prone to rollover if used incorrectly. The
only other issue is with tires. Where one
should not wear a tuxedo to work in a
foundry, conversely, a person should
not wear bib overalls to a formal at the
'Ritz Hotel'. You get the tires specifically
for your need. An 'all terrain' tire may
work ok for some things, but it is really
designed for roadway use mostly. If you
intend a lot of off-road use, get a tire
that is specifically designed for the exact
type of terrain on which you will be driving.

There are many pros, and cons on different
vehicles, but all the four wheel drives are
about the same in that they have the
ability to traverse a lot of different terrains.
Just pic your vehicle with the simplest of
design. For the way you have stated your
generally intended use, I would just look
for one of the old, 1944 to 1953 Jeeps.
The old four, and six cylinder engines are
great for fuel economy, as well as an
'easy fix' when things go wrong. They
also tend to be the least expensive of
a fix when things do break. AND, just
remember, all of them always break down
with rough terrain operation. If you want
a car to operate on highways, get a car
just for that purpose. If you need both,
get both.

The older four cylinder engines are not
very fast engines, but can be completely
rebuilt inexpensively, and very fast with
such an ease that nothing else
compares to today.

For your stated use, simple design
without the 'fancy' of today is the best.
