im about 5ft tall and about 80 pounds and was wondering if a 100cc is to big?
hey im 12 and i was wondering if a Kawasaki KX 100 would be to big to have. ive never riden before and i think i want to get into motocross. i was looking at it and my dad said that a 100cc shouldnt be to big powerwise, but i think it might be to big physiclly. idk id rather get the 100cc than the 85 because its only a 200 dollar price difference and an inch taller.
anyway my bike seat is like 30 in tall and i just think like i wont be able to touch the ground on the dirt bike. but ive never seen it in person so whatever just give me ur opinion on it thx.
Go to a Kawasaki dealership and sit on one.
You don't have to buy a new bike there.
Just try it out.

How can i get started in motocross? + other questions.?
I have not done motocross before and i really want to start. If you could tell me what kind of bike i should get? what kind of safety gear? I need a cheap beginner bike + gear . I am about 5 feet 4 inches, and i am 13 almost 14. I want to do races and maybe after a while of racing big jumps. Please help me i am a total beginner so you might have to explain some stuff. =]
Thank you very much for your help. P.S i am looking for a cheap bike because my parents won't want to spend to much money.
i am also 5"4 and almost 14. counting down ahaha. i grew up around dirtbikes and i currently ride a 110cc suzuki but am outgrowing it quickly. i would reccommend this bike because it doesnt have a clutch. so it is great to learn on. pretty much then next size up would be a 125cc which would have a clutch. do not get a cheap chinese made bike. they are cheap beacause they are made cheap and because they are made cheap they break easily and need parts replaced and parts are hard to find because they are unpopular and they are unpopluar because they are made cheap. make sense? well just get a suzuki yamaha honda or kawisaki. possibly even a ktm. ktm are made for enduro races not motocross though. i would get a used bike.once you have your bike you need gear. starting with a helmet. a helmet is very important not a desion to be made on color. all helmets should be dot approved. make sure they are. make sure you measure your head correctly. measure the circumfreence of your head 1 in above your eyebrow. different brands have different sizing so check the size charts. helmets can range from about $100 to anywhere around $500. but it is probably the most important protection to wear. a peice of gear to accompany your helmet is goggles. there are two main types of goggles. tear off and regular. i would reccomend regular for a beginner. they are just normal goggles that strap around your helmet and provide eye protection. for a more experienced rider just wanteing to get into racing i would reccomend tear off goggles. they are the same thing however they have a lot clear plastic "stickers" on top of them with little tabs on the side. when you are following someone mud will get kicked up and just like normal goggles it will spalt right on to it. but when the goggles start to get enough mud to interfer with their vision they will tear off a layer and just drop it on the track. so then they have clean goggles. simple as that. next you will need boots. boots come in a varitey. there are many to choose from. i would sugggest going to a store and trying them one and comparing but if you cant get to a store online is fine just make sure you do some research. alpinestars are the number one boot company out there. all the pros whether its freestyle motocross or street most will be wearing alpinestars. however they are also probably the most expensive. so shop around til you find a boot you like in your price range. gloves are also something you need. they can be anywhere from about $5 to a lot for a pair of gloves. you will also need a jersey and pants. you can get them seperate or together. there is a huge price range. if you are in a hot area i would reccomend a lighter weight breathable suit. such as i beleive fox airline. a chest protector is also very helpful. you can get them from a huge price range. you can get just the basics (like helmet goggles gloves and boots) and ride in your yard and stay on a reletivly small budget or go all out and stay on a modorate budget or go all out on a spending spree and easily spend $1000 on just gear. you need experience before you go to the track. once you have your gear and bike i would ride around the yard or field and get used to riding and get the hang of it. i would spend a few months doing that then move to the public track for anywhere from a month to a few just riding every chance you get and then try a race for beginners. find a good line and have fun. if you need to find a track a good website is www.motocross.com/locations
